Hi Carolyn - hear LI is as bloody hot at Florida. Been keeping San Star stalled during the day as temps hitting 110 with the heat index. NOT a happy camper, but alot cooler. Will start showing in October in Gainesville and Ocala against the big boys. Surgical farrier treated his feet for White Line and really cut them back. Haven't ridden in 7 weeks, but best for San Star in the long run. My best to Ric and the gang. Talk to you soon.

Today HP lost one of its orignal family members Gunner. Gunner has been a huge part of HP since Feb. 1, 1997. He was our 18 plus hands gentle giant with a personality of a lap dog. He has taught some many children over the years to ride, canter and even jump. RIP Gunner Bunner!!!

We have some exciting changes for our 2010 show season. Hidden Pond Stables will now be offering a division for OTTB and all of the proceeds will be going to Ponytales Rescue. I cannot wait to see all of these TB showing after they completed there racing careers!!! Hidden Pond Stables is also very proud to be awarding end of year awards for ALL division for 2010!!! Yes, it certainly did rain on Sunday, but a small group of riders came out to compete - old-style!! The rings held up well in the weather and all those newly painted jumps really shined!! Thanks to our judge Sue Phillips, course designer Karin Immerman, show secretary Lorraine, all our volunteers, and of course Carolyn and her amazing staff! Our Pre-Equitation Champion was Lisa Livote and the Reserve was Megan Behrens. The Beginner Equitation Champion was Sommer Kole and the Reserve was Maggie Brogen. Congratulations to Hidden Pond Stables riders Teal, Noele, Michelle, and Leah at the Sunday, June 26 horseshow. Teal rode our horse Slick N Sly to a Hunter Championship and Noele rode our Goober to a Reserve. Michelle showed our Excaliber for her first away show in the Equitation division against Leah riding Sarah's Lenox Hill (for his first away show in a while). Both girls comported themselves very well and came away with some nice ribbons. Good job to all our riders. Thanks go to Carolyn for trailering, grooms Hannah, Jen and Julia, cheering squad Tom, Rachel and M/M Adamovitch, and of course to the coach Karin. What a team!!

Today with great regret and deep sorrow I have to say goodbye to a dear friend Tina Vinski. Tina has been a member of the Hidden Pond Family since 1997. There were two things Tina loved most throughout her short life Christina her daughter and Joel her chestnut quarter horse. Words cannot express how much I will miss our trail rides, paces, shows, and coffee time together. Rest in peace my friend and I know you are finally free of the demons that haunted you. I am very proud to announce that I am the new owner of Blue Lake Farm's "Bird". Bird is a two year old roan gelding. Blue Lake Farm AKA Dr. McIntosh's family have been breeding top quarter horses for the last Fifty years. I think Dr. Mac just got tired of me begging him for the last 12 years for a Blue Lake Farm Horse!!! Well he finally gave in and I cannot be happier!!! I am sure he has regrets since, he gets daily updates on Bird. The other problem is that I now even have more questions for Dr. Mac. What can I say-Dr. Mac is the best!!! Last night HP lost one of it's four legged family members-Phoenix. Phoenix was 36 years old. Phoenix will be missed by all of us. Phoenix was our go to horse. He taught many of us to canter, ride bareback including myself and he has even taken us on a swim in the sound. Phoenix has been in my life even when HP was just a dream to us. He will be missed everyday by his two legged family and of course his four legged family members. He has been with some of his four legged family members for over 20 years!!! Phoenix rest in peace and I really do believe you knew that you where loved!!! You will always be my fat special ******** !!! Love always Carolyn

Today's show that was held by ECRA was great!!! This was Hidden Pond's first time ever having a reining show and it was so, much fun!!! Hey Carolyn - thanks So Much for your call tonight. All is well in Florida. San Star is doing super! He's post-Gainsville by 6 months and no further rotation of his feet. His "surgery" photos are now in the main vet magazine which I'll send you. Markie is now 28 1/2 years old and went through 2 bad colics this year. The old guy has pulled through. I'm still riding at age 52 and now have two 4-year olds I'm training for the farm's owner. They'll be in their first dressage show this September. My best to Rick and all at the farm. I saw the beautiful Ginger Rose (named by Rachel) today, that was born (in the morning of 4/22/2008) to BP Paso Fino's Cheyenne. She is mesmerizing; very cute and already walking, trotting and gaiting(?!) like a champ! And Cheyenne is the perfect mother; very protective, but still friendly. Congratulations BP Paso Fino! Geir
